Midwest Insurance Marketers of America was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana, and celebrates over 30 years as a Managing General Agency in the Group and Individual Medical, Life, Disability and Senior Product brokerage arena. Midwest Insurance Marketers of America was built on a foundation of service and support for the independent agent. Whether it is resolving coverage issues, negotiating exceptions with carriers, dissemination of product information, product training or providing sales and marketing support, Midwest Insurance Marketers of America continues to strive for excellence in helping independent insurance agents to grow and expand their business.
MEET OUR TEAM
HARRY GARMAN
Founder
Founder Harry Garman (1948-2021) felt there needed to be a liaison between the client, agent and insurance company. Therefore, he established Midwest Insurance Marketers Of America, Inc, an Indianapolis Indiana based insurance brokerage agency, established in 1988 as a major sales, marketing and product distribution organization for various Life & Health insurance carriers. He served as President of The Indianapolis Health Underwriters Association from 1992-1993 and served as past President of the State of Indiana Health Underwriters from 1995- 1996. He was a member of the insurance community for 39 years. He resided in Brownsburg, Indiana with his wife Lori and they have two children Jacob and Melanie. Unfortunately, Harry lost his battle with Covid-19 in January 2021. Compassion, concern, empathy, and humility were the traits and qualities that echoed throughout Harry’s life. His agents and clients were like family and he went above and beyond to assist them.

Harry and I decided when we were married that we wanted to control our own destinies. We had both worked in the insurance industry for several years. Harry's focus was in the Sales and Marketing area and my focus was on Underwriting, Claims and Accounting. We felt we made a well-rounded team to open our own business, so in December of 1988 we did. I have always enjoyed helping others so while Harry worked on Sales and Marketing techniques I worked on developing the Customer Service aspects of the business. After almost 34 years in the business, we are thriving and continuing to uphold Harry's legacy.
I still reside in Brownsburg, Indiana. Both our children are married and I am a grandmother to Brayden, Charlotte, and Paisley for whom I adore. I have been a Board member for a non-profit whose mission is to empower adults with intellectual disabilities since it's inception 7 years ago and currently serve as their treasurer.
HOLLY FISHER

Holly followed in her parents' footsteps and received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Ball State University. Her father, Kedrick, served as Superintendent of schools until his retirement when he became a licensed insurance agent with Midwest Insurance Marketers. Once Holly realized that teaching was not her calling, she again turned to her father's influence and received her insurance license as well. After telling Harry and Lori all about his daughter and having a quick interview, as Holly tells it she's not sure if "Harry actually hired her or if she just showed up to work on Monday!" Holly was integral in helping Harry and Lori build the business up to what it is today. Now, after 35 years in the insurance business, Holly has taken the reins after Harry's passing as the Principal of MWIMA. Holly enjoys a fancy glass of dry white wine and has a vast group of close friends that take her on vacations, to concerts, boating, camping, festivals, reunions, and many many backyard parties.
CHRISTY HOPPER
Underwriting Manager
Christy joined MWIMA as a high school senior to fulfill her work study requirements. She was quickly offered a full-time position after graduation and has been a valued member of our team since. Currently, Christy is our Underwriting Manager and handles processing all of our new incoming group business. Christy is married with two children and enjoys spending time with them boating on Lake Monroe and watching her son play sports.
NIKKI CARLISLE
Accounting & Commissions
Nikki holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Indianapolis. She joined the MWIMA team in 1999. Currently, Nikki handles all of our incoming and outgoing commission processing and payments to our agent force. Nikki enjoys spending quiet time at home with her husband and daughter, or sometimes you may find her wildly screaming at her daughter's softball games.
JACOB GARMAN
Jacob graduated from the University of Tampa in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Government. He began working at MWIMA as a Quoting Specialist Part-Time during college, but came on Full-Time upon returning to Indiana. Currently, Jacob is our Benefits Coordinator. His duties include agent contracting, individual product sales, quoting, and administration. Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, bowling, and going to car shows.
STEPHANIE HYSONG
Claims & Administration
Stephanie first met Lori and Harry years ago working in the insurance business. After a chance run in and a quick chat with Lori at the local Wal-Mart, Stephanie joined the MWIMA team in 2003. She decided to slowly ease into retirement and began working only part-time in 2019. Currently, Stephanie is the queen of all things administration handling add-ons, deletions, claims, invoice issues, and anything else that is thrown at her. Despite her full plate, she remains our breath of fresh air, keeping everyone laughing with her wit. Stephanie is married to her high school sweetheart, Eric and has a son and granddaughter that she spoils rotten.
STEPHANIE GARLAND
Stephanie holds an Associates degree in Human Services. She joined MWIMA in November of 2019. Currently, Stephanie duties include but not limited to quoting, administration, benefit booklet creation, renewals, agent of record changes, and website maintenance. Stephanie enjoys spending quality time with her husband, 3 adult children and her sweet & sassy granddaughter.
